Location: Krakow, Poland
Year: 2014
Size: 736 m²
Investor: National Stary Theatre in Krakow
Scope: narrative script, designs for the installations and interactive stations, multimedia designs
Modern ways of approaching theatre break down all the classical divisions – between art disciplines, between the actor/performer and the viewers, or between the stage and the audience. Theatre has become a sphere of internal confrontation, a place for bold, open dialogue.
These were our premises in designing the INTERACTIVE MUSEUM at the National Stary Theatre in Krakow. Our vision was to equip the harsh, sterile space with modern image, sound, and light simulators. Joined with the museum pieces and the props they create a remarkable set design, in which the phenomenon of the theatre is less recreated than created in the visitor's mind. The result is a virtual game in which the visitor explores and discovers the history, craft, substance, and function of the art of the theatre.
